Summary

In Let’s Talk About Energy, students will suggest ways to reduce the amount of energy we use to get around in a short letter to the Minister of Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Transport Electrification. To be able to do this, they will first think about the impact of different energy sources. Then, they will calculate the carbon footprints of different modes of transportation to find out which energy sources are the largest contributors to global warming.

Issue

Electrifying Vox Pop is an engaging educational activity that involves the screening and analysis of short videos on gas-powered cars and electric cars to demystify them and to compare their energy efficiency, the amount of energy stored, the amount of energy used to travel 100 km, the energy cost and their impacts on the environment. The aim is to give Secondary 4 students in ST, EST and AST classes the tools to raise awareness about the environment and transportation through the production of a vox pop.
